Sight words are words we want students to know by memorize with automaticity. Students should recognize them immediately without needing to sound them out. These words are encountered most frequently in print for kindergarten text.

- Paint them
- Play "Go Fish"
- Type them on the computer
- Write them in sidewalk chalk
- Spell them with magnetic letters
- Make flashcards for on-the-go practice
- Find them in magazines and cut them out
- Write a short story with different sight words
- Put them on post-it notes around your house
- Use shaving cream on the side of the bathtub and spell them
- Draw sight words on your child's back and then have them guess the words
- Make a power point presentation with words; Students read them as it goes by
