Just a few cute pics of us enjoying the playground all to ourselves this morning while the weather was still breezy and cool. Way to go for an awesome whole-class sub report!! We are cooperative!
Welcome to our 2017-2018 class website!
Check back at the end of each week for updates, news, and fun! :) We had beautiful weather yesterday for an awesome bug hunt! We took clipboards and checklists out to the garden and found all 12 insects/bugs rather quickly! Some found others that weren't on the list and added to our list! We had a blast exploring the garden and learning where certain living things might be hiding and why. We will wrap up our sharing the planet unit next Friday!
We had a SUPER successful music performance today! Staff all over the school were very impressed with the kindergarten practice and performance both, and we received many compliments all day long! Students did an awesome job of waiting "backstage" and inbetween songs, remembering words/motions, remaining still for pictures, and overall just had spectacular behavior! And weren't they just the cutest little creatures you've ever seen?
We partnered up with Mrs. Morrison's class to hunt for our sight words on eggs in the garden. Students worked on skills like collecting, counting, tallying, graphing, sorting, and so much more with not just the eggs, but the surprise jellybeans inside! Such fun!
So much fun sharing the planet and releasing our ladybug friends in the garden to eat aphids and help our plants grow. We loved feeling them land on us and watching them happily fly around as they entered their natural habitat again!
Our class had an amazing first field trip together! We saw some of our favorite books and characters come to life in a play, Elephant and Piggie! The actors were very funny and kept us entertained. They even let us participate a little bit. Many of us were excited to ride the bus for the first time and to be outside of school with our teacher and classmates. We learned a lot about being a good audience member, the systems in place for a performance, and made many other connections along the way. What an unforgettable time! :-)
We had a blast sharing our games with "customers" from all over the school! They played with us. gave us feedback, and we improved our designs each time! Thanks to parents who helped with and visited our arcade this week, also. It meant so much to them and was definitely an unforgettable memory! :-)
Kindergarteners love learning about coding! From using Kodable in the computer lab to drawing coding paths for Ozobots, we are becoming computer whizzes in no time! Take a look at some of the fun exploration we have taken part in for Hour of Code week.
